GETTING RID OF GIBEONITES
When we take the mask off and take an honest look at the Church today, we can see that sin has so infiltrated the Church that it is difficult to distinguish Christians from the world. The Church is full of hypocrites, so-called Christians, who are professing to live a holy life but who are fulfilling the lusts of their flesh. Gibeonites!
There are those professing to be Christians who go to church, dance, shout, and praise the Lord, but the minute they walk out the door they begin to gossip, criticize, and tear down the pastor or other members of the Body of Christ.
There are men and women who are bound by lust and involved in adulterous relationships, yet see nothing wrong with it. They believe they can continue illicit relationships and still be Christians.
There are so-called Christians today who think nothing of lying, stealing, or cheating on their jobs. They take days off and call in sick, take supplies home from the office, take extra time at coffee breaks, and extend their lunch hours.
There are Christian businessmen who think nothing of lying on their income taxes, cheating their customers, purposely misrepresenting the facts, and becoming involved in questionable business deals with unbelievers.
There are Christians who allow their hearts and minds to be filled with all sorts of evil imaginations and fantasies. They watch R-rated movies filled with foul language, sex, and violence. They tell dirty jokes on the job, read cheap romance novels, and watch the “soaps” on television. GETTING RID OF GIBEONITES
In many churches today worldliness is no longer condemned but is encouraged through doctrines that are being preached which cause Christians to set their affections on things of this world and teach them to seek material possessions. GETTING RID OF GIBEONITES
In many churches, there are those who have an outward form of godliness, but who are filled with hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, greed, jealousy, and other ungodly attitudes. GETTING RID OF GIBEONITES
Paul told Titus:
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. (Titus 2:11-12)
Peter told believers to “…rid yourselves of all malice, and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind” (1 Peter 2:1, NIV).
Examine our own life today. Are there some Gibeonites you need to identify and get rid of?
Make this declaration:
In the Name of Jesus I reject malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander from operating in my life.
