THE GOD OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES

The Psalmist David said:

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust, I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. (Psalm 56:3-4)

David made a conscious decision to cast out fear and trust God. As he released his trust in God, he won the battle against fear. In other words, David was saying: “When I feel fear overtaking me, by an act of my will — regardless of the circumstances — I will put my trust in God and I will not fear!” THE GOD OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES

David refused fear. Repeatedly in the Psalms he declared, “I will not fear”…

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. (Psalm 27:3)

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; (Psalm 46:2)

As you begin your march to break down the wall of fear in your life, this is part of the strategy God has given you to cause that wall of fear to come crashing down! Use your trust in God to counterattack the fears that come against your mind. What are the fears that are blocking you from taking hold of God’s promises to you? Forget your circumstances and get your eyes focused on God! THE GOD OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES

You maybe thinking, “Brother Cerullo, you just don’t know the circumstances I am facing. How can I not be afraid?” While it is true that I may not know your exact circumstances, I do know the God of your circumstances. That is why I can encourage you to choose to trust God instead of allowing fear to paralyze you. Trust is a bold confidence and total reliance upon God. Look at your circumstances and — like David — say to the Lord, “I will not fear! I will put my trust in You, the God of my circumstances!”

Make this declaration:

When I am afraid, I will trust in God. In God, I have put my trust. I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
