TO THE EMPLOYERS AND COMPANY OWNERS ON LABOUR DAY

I bring you God’s word in season. If you receive it gladly, you will be glad indeed, for God’s favor will be upon you.

◾️Stay Away From Corrupt Practices

“Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption…” (Isaiah 1:4 NIV)

Corruption corrupts. It’s a cause behind every curse. Anything gained through it, destroys. No matter what you do with the money or favor gained, it will rob you of needed peace, and pierce your heart through with many sorrows. Anything you do with corrupt money will always carry an atmosphere of evil, be it a car, a house, or anything. And EVIL ATTRACTS EVIL.

◾️ Treat Your Workers Well, For You Also Have An Employer

“And masters, treat your servants considerately. Be fair with them. Don’t forget for a minute that you, too, serve a Master-God in heaven.” (Colossians 4:1 MSG)

Whatever position you have today, you have it because God gave it to you. Don’t let pride lead you to think otherwise…

◾️Pay Your Workers What They Are Worth

1 Timothy 5:18 says, “The laborer is worthy of his reward” nothing more, nothing less.

◾️Pay Your Workers Well or Their Money Will Cry Against You And Destroy you

“You refused to pay the people who worked in your fields, and now their unpaid wages are shouting out against you. The Lord All-Powerful has surely heard the cries of the workers who harvested your crops.” (James 5:4 CEV)

◾️Don’t Keep The Wages Of Your Workers, Your Problems Will Never End

“… the wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until morning.”
(Leviticus 19:13 AMPC). Why? Wages represent the life that was spent to earn them. That is why a thief can never go unpunished, when he takes money which is not his, he also takes the problems of those to whom it belongs.

◾️When You Delay To Pay Them You Sin Against God

Deuteronomy 24:14 TLB
“Never oppress a poor hired man, whether a fellow Israelite or a foreigner living in your town. Pay him his wage each day before sunset, for since he is poor he needs it right away; otherwise, he may cry out to the Lord against you and it would be counted as a sin against you.

◾️ Don’t Bring Doom Upon Yourself…

“DOOM to him who builds palaces but bullies people, who makes a fine house but destroys lives, Who cheats his workers and won’t pay them for their work, Who says, ‘I’ll build me an elaborate mansion with spacious rooms and fancy windows. I’ll bring in rare and expensive woods and the latest in interior decor.” (Jeremiah 22:13-14 MSG)

◾️ Don’t Be A Pharaoh!

“And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord , that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.” (Exodus 5:1, 2).

Pharaoh refused to allow God’s people to take an off from work so they can go and worship because he did not know God. Anyone who knows God in truth will not treat God’s people like Pharaoh did – he will encourage his people to worship and give them time off from work so they can do likewise.

◾️Do Not Oppress Your Workers Whether They’re Foreigners Or Brethren From Your Tribe

“Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates” (Deuteronomy 24:14)
