WHAT GOD REQUIRES

WHAT GOD REQUIRES

God has brought you to a new point in your spiritual destiny. All that God requires of you is to hear His voice and obey. God has positioned you for victory, but you must move forward by faith and obedience in the fear of God.

One major cause for Israel’s continual rebellion and disobedience against God was that they did not fear Him. On Mount Sinai, God revealed Himself to the Israelites in flaming fire and billowing smoke and spoke to them in an audible voice out of the fire so they would fear Him.

As they were preparing to go in to take possession of the Promised Land, Moses gathered all the people together and told them:

Only take heed, and guard your life diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your (mind and) heart all the days of your life; teach them to your children, and your children’s children; especially how on the day that you stood before the Lord your God in Horeb, the Lord said to me, Gather the people together to Me, and I will make them hear My words, that they may learn (reverently) to fear Me all the days they live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children. (Deuteronomy 4:9-10, TAB)

“Don’t forget,” Moses warned them. “Take heed!” He also told them clearly what God required of them:

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? …You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name. (Deuteronomy 10:12-13,20, NAS)

Moses warned Israel that punishment would come upon them if they failed to obey God’s commandments, yet soon after Israel entered Canaan, they turned their backs on God and disobeyed Him.

God requires the same thing from you that He did from Israel:

  • Fear the Lord.
  • Walk in all His ways. Love Him.
  • Serve and cling to Him with all your heart and soul.
  • Keep His commandments.
  • Walk in the authority of His Name.

Make this declaration:

I will serve You and walk in Your ways. I will love You, serve You with all my heart, and keep Your commandments. I will walk in the authority of Your Name. Deuteronomy 4:1-10
