Topic: THE FEAR OF HUMAN OPINIONS
“The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that.” Proverbs 29:25, MSG
John 12:42, 43, gives us a classic example of the fear of man in play: “Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him (Jesus); but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: FOR THEY LOVED THE PRAISE OF MEN MORE THAN THE PRAISE OF GOD.” These men found the truth, but they allowed the fear of man bind them to their dead traditions.
They didn’t want to profess their faith in the ministry of Jesus because they didn’t want to lose their “uniform” and be criticized by their peers. They were too afraid of men to follow God’s direction. The Amplified Bible puts it this way: “…they loved the approval of men more than the approval of God.”
How many of us are living outside the will of God because we don’t want human criticism?
How many are poor and limited because their God given dream hasn’t yet received approval from men?
The fear of man DISABLES, it paralyses, and keeps people from doing what God wants them to do. But The fear of God ENABLES one to break free from the fear of men and do the impossible to please God.
I know it is more comfortable to be like other people. It is easier to move with the crowed. There seems to be more security in doing what others are doing. But God has called you to follow His Spirit, to be peculiar, and outstanding. He never planned for you to fit in, He designed you to stand out. Don’t stay in the background just because you are afraid of what people might say about you if you stand out. THE FEAR OF HUMAN OPINIONS
Other people’s attitude cannot hurt you, it is your attitude that can; nothing can intimidate you without your consent.
Don’t let fear of criticism keep you from doing what God called you to do. Don’t elevate the opinions of men above the word of God.
Go all out for Jesus in spite of any opposition that tries to curtail you. You were born to win! THE FEAR OF HUMAN OPINIONS
