The Word Of God

The Word Of God

Satan will try to deceive you and make you think that God’s Word is too hard to understand. He will try to make you think that you aren’t smart enough or that you need someone else to interpret it for you. He wants you to become dependent upon other Christians, your pastor, or great preachers and teachers.

Now, don’t misunderstand me. God has placed pastors, teachers, evangelists, and preachers within the Body of Christ to train, teach, and equip you with a knowledge of the Word of God. They are God’s gifts to you to help you. But God does not want you to build your life on what other people know and believe. You can’t survive on what other people know; you must know that you know that you know.

Can you imagine a soldier out on the battlefield fighting one-on-one combat telling the enemy, “You wait right here while I go ask my sergeant what to do to win this battle.” The enemy would get him the minute he turned his back! During a battle, when you are face-to- face with the enemy, is not the time to try to find someone who can tell you what to do. You need to know what the Word of God says and how to use it to defeat the enemy.

Every time the enemy comes against you, God doesn’t want you running to someone else. He wants you to be strong and immovable. He wants you to be filled with spiritual knowledge. He has placed the Holy Spirit within you to reveal the Word of God to you:

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (1 John 2:27)

If there are things that you do not understand in the Word of God, ask Him to reveal it to you. Head knowledge is not enough. You can’t win the battle using head knowledge. Begin to exercise spiritual discernment. When you hear the Word of God coming forth, search the Word to see if what you hear is true. As you do this, you will grow in knowledge and Satan will not be able to get a foothold in your life.

Confusion, apathy, spiritual pride, fear, worry, compromise, and discouragement are also methods Satan will use to get a foothold in your life. Rise up in the Spirit and make yourself a fortress against these strategies of the enemy.

I feel sorry for the devil when he comes up against me. Honestly, I really do. I look at him and say, “You don’t have a chance. Go bother someone else!”

Make this declaration:

Satan, you don’t have a chance. Go bother someone else!
